LEARN TO ROW

Learn to row (LTR) courses are provided by GUSPRC as an introduction to the sport of flat water rowing. The course is modelled on Rowing Australia guidelines having been designed to teach individuals of all age 13 to 75 years young - our oldest rower, & persons of all abilities (with little or no rowing experience) the rudimentary elements of & provide them with the confidence & the basic skills of the sculling technique (i.e. rowing with 2 blades). The art of sweep oar (big boat rowing i.e. w/- a single oar) is taught once you have mastered the sculling technique & have joined the club. We introduce you to club rowing programs.

When
Over a total of 6 mornings on the held on Saturday & Sunday as well as sessions with the Novice squad. These times will be notified.Total of 6 sessions of aprox 1 to 1.5 hrs in length.

Time - these times are flexible
Saturday from 8am to 9.30am please be at the shed @ 7.45am

Sunday 6am to 7.30am, please be at the shed @ 7.15am.

Mid week sessions at 5.30am or 7am

Cost
$200 for adult and $100 for full time students (including insurance)

Where
The GUSPRC rowing shed on the Nerang River opposite the CORPORATE CENTRE @ 159 Bundall Rd Bundall (parking is on the street outside the shed).

What to bring
Hat, sunglasses, water, towel, change of clothes, surf (or water) shoes (or old pair of socks). Please apply sunscreen before you leave home and thoroughly wash hands.


What to wear

Close fitting top & bike pants (or similar) any clothes that are not baggy (so they don't get caught on the oar handles or the seat slides).

Fitness requirements
You need to be able to swim & the club needs to be advised of any medical conditions that may affect the program.

To start
Call or email in advance to book at spot (max 4 persons per course)
Complete the LTR form
Pay the fee in advance (cash, gold, diamonds or a cheque made out to GUSPRC) we have no eftpos facilities
